Summit-University features a diverse housing selection including single detached homes, duplexes, and various apartment buildings, providing many options for residents. The neighborhood is well-served by a strong public transportation network, including multiple rapid transit stations on the METRO Green Line and several bus routes, making access convenient. Nearby highways like US Hwy 52 offer easy travel by car, with ample parking available. Residents have access to numerous parks, offering refreshing green space spread throughout the area. The neighborhood includes a variety of nearby schools, grocery stores, restaurants, and cafes, providing numerous amenities within short distances.

Despite the somewhat busy feel, there are a lot of green spaces to enjoy in Summit-University. Reaching parks is easy from the majority of locations within the neighborhood since there are about 10 of them close by for residents to explore. Lastly, many parts of Summit-University is quite quiet, however noise can be an issue near I- 35e or I-94.
